Schedule Environment Events
Use Golive Timelines to plan, track, and manage activities across your Environments. This is done by creating and scheduling Events on various Calendars such as Bookings, Changes or Blackouts (for freeze periods), depending on your needs.
This article explains the general process of scheduling Environments in Golive, regardless of the Calendar type.
Requirements
Make sure you:
Are a Golive Administrator or Timeline Owner.
Have completed your Scheduling Configuration.
Understand the Timeline Core Concepts, such as Calendars, Timelines, and swimlanes.
Scheduling Environments
Step 1: Access a Timeline
Go to the Golive Timeline where you want to schedule activities. If you don’t have a Timeline yet, create a new Timeline View from our templates.
Step 2: Add a Calendar
To schedule Events, you must first create or add a Calendar to the Timeline.
Click Edit in the top-right corner.
In the Calendars section on the right, click + Add Calendar.
Select + Create a new calendar, then choose the type that fits your use case.
Give it a name and adjust the filters, display settings, and permissions as needed.
Click Done to save.
For details on specific Calendar types, refer to the Calendar & Event types section of our documentation.
Step 3: Create an Event
Schedule an Event using one of the following methods:
Drag and Drop: Drag the Event onto the Timeline to open the Event creation dialog.
Calendar Menu: Click the Event name or the Actions button (three dots), then select Create Event.
Fill in the required fields such as:
Title or Description

Other custom fields depending on your Calendar and configuration
Click Create or Save to schedule the Event.
Step 4: Reschedule Events
To update an Event's time or duration:
Resize it by dragging the start or end of the Event.
Move it by dragging the entire Event horizontally (to change time) or vertically (to change Environment swimlane).
Depending on your configuration, you'll be prompted to confirm the new values, such as:
Start and End Time
Environment(s)
Version
Exclusivity
Step 5: Edit or Delete Events
To update or remove an Event:
Click the Event on the Timeline.
Select Edit or Delete.
Make your changes or confirm deletion.
