Quick Guide for Administrators
In this guide, administrators will learn how to enable Golive on specific Jira Projects and manage security and permissions.

On the Golive Settings page, go to the Settings section and choose Permissions.
At the bottom left of the Global Permissions list, click Add Role.
Enter a descriptive name, such as "Golive Administrator."
Add the Golive Administrator permission.
Select Jira users or user groups for this role.
Click Create.
Congratulations! The designated users can now set up Golive.
Default Permissions on Standard Groups
On a fresh installation, Golive permissions are granted to default Jira groups like jira-administrators
, jira-users
, jira-software-users
, etc.
Info
If you use custom groups, add them to roles created during Golive installation. Refer to the Security and Permissions documentation for detailed instructions.
Role-Based Permission System
Golive’s role-based permission system is intricate. You must be cautious when changing default Golive roles. Understanding the difference between Global Permissions and Environment Permissions before making changes is important. For detailed information, refer to the Security and Permissions documentation.
Important
Avoid removing permissions from default Golive roles unless you fully understand the potential impacts.
